Last week, we provided further clarification on our new traffic process around the school. We also created a narrated video to visually demonstrate the expectations for drop-off and pick-up lines. We hope that these measures will help all families understand and adhere to the smooth operation of these areas.
School fees have been sent out earlier this week. We would like to remind families who have concerns about payment to schedule an appointment with the principal to discuss their circumstances. Taking proactive steps in this regard will minimise school fee stress, and any necessary adjustments can be made as early as possible. Information about the sibling discount offered between Prendiville College and St Simon Peter is now available on the school website. If this discount applies to you, please read the information and contact St Simon Peter as instructed on the website for further details.
I am excited to meet more members of our community at our Back to School Picnic this Friday, February 23rd, from 4 pm to 8 pm on the school oval. It will be a great opportunity to celebrate together and welcome everyone back for the new year. A big thank you to our FSSP, who have been diligently planning the picnic over the past few weeks.
At the FSSP stall, there will be a sausage sizzle, drinks, juice boxes, lolly bags, and glow sticks available. Don't forget to purchase your raffle ticket online.
Please be aware that smoking, vaping, and bringing pets onto the school premises are not allowed. The student toilets are reserved for children only, while adults can use the toilets in the main admin building. Please follow the signage at the event.
We look forward to seeing everyone there.
Warm regards
Peter Cutrona
We are now in the season of Lent. Lent is the period of 40 days which comes before Easter in the Christian calendar. Beginning on Ash Wednesday, 14th February 2024. Lent is a season of reflection and preparation before the celebrations of Easter. By observing the 40 days of Lent, we replicate Jesus Christ’s sacrifice and withdrawal into the desert for 40 days. Lent is marked by prayer, fasting and almsgiving.

SSP Social Worker - Mary Lynch
My office is open during recess and lunch at alternate times durimg the week. At these times the students have an opportunity to come say hello, have some chill time with their friends, play some games or talk to the Social Worker for some advice or guidance. There are games, fidget toys, bean bags, books, meditation and mindful colouring available for the students to enjoy in a safe environment.
Parents are welcome to contact me to chat about concerns or to gain some advice, I am currently located in the Junior Preprimary area, there is a sign out the front of my door. I will be working Monday – Friday. Please come say hello and have a chat. I am very much looking forward to working alongside our St Simon Peter families.

Our society as a whole is becoming much more aware that health and wellbeing does not just pertain to the physical. We are becoming much more aware of the impact mental health plays in our lives. This is very true when it comes to children’s health and wellbeing also.
As parents, we ensure our children are physically strong and well, however, it is as equally important that we monitor and help them maintain their mental health as well.
I would like to extend a warm invitation to your school community to attend our upcoming College Open Day.
