Have you accessed the Student Assistance Payment yet?
If you haven't done so, please visit https://www.wa.gov.au/organisation/government-of-western-australia/servicewa-app-latest-offers to find out what needs to be done to receive the payment. The school has provided each parent with the student ID on SEQTA. If you've lost the information on how to access this, please contact the school admin who will reissue the instructions on how to access your child’s student ID.
We encourage all parents to use the correct communication methods for school-related matters.
If you need to clarify a class situation, this communication should be directed to the classroom teacher via Seesaw. If further escalation is required, it should be directed to the relevant cluster leader. The two assistant principals, Clodagh Manifold (responsible for Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 3, and Year 5 levels) and Nicole Crosthwaite (Pre Primary, Year 2, Year 4, Year 6), can be contacted via the school admin at admin@ssp.wa.edu.au. This ensures that your email is sent to the right person and recorded correctly within our school management system. The next level of escalation is the principal, with communication again being sent through the school admin email. We ask that all parents follow this system instead of emailing the leadership staff directly, to ensure your communication is captured correctly. Staff may be away from the school or ill, and to ensure your issue is handled appropriately, we ask you to follow the system above.
We would like to remind everyone involved in our community about the importance of maintaining a respectful tone in all forms of communication. Whether it be through email, direct conversation, or any other medium, we encourage everyone to ensure their language is courteous and appropriate. This not only promotes a positive and respectful environment but also ensures that everyone is treated with the dignity and respect they deserve. We believe that effective and respectful communication is key to fostering a strong community spirit and ensuring the smooth operation of our daily activities.
A reminder about our enrolment referral rebate: any family who refers a new enrolment to SSP who starts at the school in any year level can receive a $200 referral. There's no limit to the number of referrals you can make. We know word of mouth is a powerful motivator for people choosing a school and we want to reward those who recommend our school to new families.
We'd like to acknowledge Mrs Vicki Leonard who has decided to retire from her position in the library at the end of Term Two. Vicki has been a staff member and a parent at our school for many years and we congratulate her for her longevity in our school and the contribution that she has made over the numerous years.
Please note that I will be away on national duties next week and both Miss Manifold and Mrs Crosthwaite will be the points of contact during my absence.
Warm regards
Peter Cutrona

This balance can be particularly hard to achieve when you’re trying to raise girls. Boys have their own obstacles to navigate while growing up, but girls are still dealing with the legacy of a society that has undervalued and undermined women for centuries. It kind of seems crazy that we’re still fighting for basic rights like respect, autonomy, opportunities and recognition, but we are. Even though some great strides have been made, we’re a long way from equality, and these are the conditions our girls are working with...
