Words Matter!
Whether they are throwaway comments or said with intent, gossip, talking badly about others, or making false or unfair accusations can be both harmful and, in some cases, unlawful.
Our school focuses on teaching our children how their actions impact others. Sometimes these impacts are not visible, but they do exist. This is why we address concerns between children with restorative practices that build, maintain, and restore positive relationships.
When issues arise at our school, everyone needs to follow the established processes. This usually means directing questions or concerns to the appropriate place and understanding that, as a school, all children need to be considered before a decision is made or acted upon.
We all want the best for all children and this remains at the forefront of all decision making in our school.
As we finalise the kindergarten placements for 2025, if you have not received notification from our school regarding your child’s enrolment, please contact our enrolments officer to secure your child’s place for next year.
Two types of car movement issues have been raised in the past week. One involves the parking of parents in the medical center area off Santiago Parkway. We have received complaints about vehicles dropping off students in the mornings, blocking entry to the car park, and in one instance, behaving extremely inappropriately with a staff member. It was confirmed to be one of our families as the school uniform was clearly visible. Receiving this complaint was extremely disappointing.
The other issue is the ignoring of the no right turn into the drop-off/pick-up lines during peak hours. Please ensure this practice does not continue. The vast majority of our families always do the right thing, and we both acknowledge and thank them for their actions each day.
I will be away next week conducting national principal meetings interstate. The school will capably be administered by our two assistant Principals, Miss Manifold and Mrs Crosthwaite in my absence.
Warm regards
Peter Cutrona

The theme this year is; Reading is Magic.
The Costume parade is scheduled for Wednesday 21st August. 9.00am
With our 2024 Children's Book Week theme; Reading is Magic, we're celebrating reading stories and their amazing power to transport minds. We are encouraging kids to be curious about the wonders in our world. It is a positive and affirming message for our young people. The magic of reading also lies in its power of enticement; a good story provokes conversations. Talking about the stories with others connects the reader with other readers. Wrapped around all of this are the "tricks" and skills of our amazing writers and illustrators, as they use all their powers of language and illustration to engage the reader in this world they are building.
Check out this video to help you get a feeling about the theme. https://youtu.be/kMokHCyJsjk
