As we come to the end of yet another rewarding term, I would like to take a moment to reflect on all the wonderful events and milestones we've celebrated together. It has been a busy few weeks but the energy, dedication within our community has made it all worthwhile.
One of the highlights of this term was the spectacular Frozen musical. Our students shone on stage, displaying their incredible talents and commitment to the performing arts. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring this production to life.
We also celebrated Book Week with enthusiasm, as students and staff alike donned their favourite costumes and immersed themselves in the world of literature.
Our Father’s Day Cuppa event was a great opportunity for students to show appreciation for the fathers and father figures in their lives. We had a wonderful turnout and sense of community was felt by all.
The Tabloid Carnival was another great success, filled with fun, teamwork, and healthy competition. It was fantastic to see students of all ages participating in the various events, supporting one another, and enjoying the spirit of the day.
Tomorrow we will celebrate Grandparents' Day with a beautiful morning tea and Mass. It is always a lovely occasion honouring the special role grandparents play in the lives of our students.
Finally, we were blessed to witness many of our students receive the First Holy Communion sacrament, a significant and sacred milestone in their faith journey.
None of these wonderful experiences would have been possible without the incredible efforts of our staff, parents, parish and students. I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to each one of you for your dedication and hard work. Together, we have built a stronger, more connected community.
As we head into the break, I encourage everyone to take some well-deserved rest and enjoy time with family and friends. I look forward to seeing you all next term which commences on Tuesday 8th October, refreshed and ready for the exciting adventures that lie ahead.
Wishing you all a safe and restful holiday.
Warm regards,
Clodagh Manifold

Music Ministry Shines at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival!
SSP is thrilled to announce that our Music Ministry performed at the Catholic Performing Arts Festival Final Showcase and received the prestigious Archbishop Foley Award Shield! The students delivered a joyful and enthusiastic performance that truly captivated the audience.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to Mrs. Oliver and Mrs. Templeton for their dedication in rehearsing with our talented students each week. We also want to extend our gratitude to Gwyn Oliver for her wonderful accompaniment and to Ms. Manifold for her support in supervising during the event.
We appreciate the parents who helped transport our students to and from Newman College, ensuring everyone could take part in this special occasion. It was a memorable experience for all involved, and we are incredibly proud of our talented young musicians!
Congratulations to our Music Ministry for this remarkable achievement!

At SSP, our Year 6 students have been busy kicking off a fantastic fundraising initiative with Containers for Change. We’re thrilled to share that, thanks to everyone’s efforts in bringing in bottles and containers marked with the 10c refund logo, we’ve raised $70! This amount has been donated to the kindergarten classes to support their exciting projects on worm farms and other sustainable practices.
This term, we’re excited to expand the project to include our Year 5 students, aiming to boost our fundraising efforts even further. To make things even more fun, we’re introducing a friendly competition: the class that collects the most containers will win a special prize!
To participate in this great cause, please drop your bottles and cans into the Containers for Change bins located outside the Year 5 and 6 classrooms. Your contributions make a difference, and we appreciate all the support so far.
Thank you for helping us make a positive impact!

We encourage you to visit the shop before the end of the term to ensure that you have everything your child needs for the upcoming term. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Read LessThis year, we conducted a survey among current Pre-Primary parents to gather preferences for the Year 1 uniform for 2025. Out of 65 respondents, an impressive 76% expressed a preference for their children to wear the current sport uniform rather than the formal uniform.
In light of these results and in alignment with the school’s new direction for uniforms, starting in 2025, students from Kindy through to Year 1 will be required to wear the school sport uniform.
Thank you to everyone who participated in the survey. We believe this change will support a more comfortable and practical school experience for our younger students.
2025 Uniform Kindy - Year 1
Uniform Changes
Thank you to all the families who took the time to complete the uniform survey. A total of 322 people participated, highlighting how important uniforms are to our community. The results will be released next term.
Any uniform changes will require a phased implementation plan. We anticipate that most adjustments will be completed by the end of 2027, with all students wearing the same uniform by then.
Changes that will commence in 2025:
- Kindy to Year 1 – Compulsory Sport Uniform, including sport socks with enclosed predominately white or black velcro sport shoes.
- Shirts tucked in for Formal Summer and Winter uniforms.
- Student to wear enclosed formal black shoes (Velcro or laces) for both the Summer and Winter uniforms. No sandals are to be worn on the summer uniform. Sneakers are not to be worn with the formal uniforms.
- Girls have the option to wear the boys’ maroon shorts or the maroon pants
- Phase out the Winter pinafore and replace with a plaid skirt or plaid skort and shirt.
- Girls to wear black stockings in the Winter.
- Phase out the maroon rain jacket. (no longer available to be purchased from the Uniform Shop)
- Term 4 phase out summer dress and replace with plaid skirt or plaid skort and shirt.
- Term 4 phase out maroon skort for girls and replace with plaid skirt or plaid skort.
- Term 4 phase in wearing sport socks with the formal uniform

Parent TV - When Is It Okay To Introduce social Media To Our Kids?
This is a common conversation that many parents are having with their tweens. Actually, let me clarify, it’s not a conversation, it’s often a tirade of abuse from your 10-year-old daughter, claiming that her social life will be ruined if she’s excluded from social media.
Below are the instructions about how to sign up:
