During the school holidays, significant improvements were made to the pre-primary playground. The existing sandpit was removed and replaced with grass, creating a fresh new space. Our dedicated groundsmen, Mr. Prout and Mr. Capriotti, devoted considerable time to enhancing the area, including a revamped mud kitchen for the children's enjoyment.
As we begin Term Four, we're entering a busy period of end-of-year events, including the graduation of our Year 6 students. The next seven weeks will fly by, and with Christmas less than three months away, Term Four will conclude swiftly.
I'd like to extend my gratitude to Miss Manifold, who capably stepped into the role of acting principal during my absence at the end of Term Three. We're incredibly fortunate to have such a high-caliber leadership team at our school, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for both children and staff.
Warm regards

Prayer Before The Sacrament of Reconciliation
As we prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation, we turn to God, who is always loving and merciful.
Dear God,
We come before You seeking forgiveness and Your boundless mercy. Help us to genuinely feel sorrow for the wrongs we have committed and for the good we have failed to do. May we strive to follow Jesus in all things, guided by the grace of Your Holy Spirit.
Amen.

On Tuesday, September 17th, and Wednesday, September 19th, the students of St. Simon Peter proudly participated in the Regional Inter-School Athletics Carnival. It was a remarkable experience to witness the exceptional performance and camaraderie displayed by our students throughout the event. We are pleased to report that St. Simon Peter secured a commendable 6th place out of the 8 schools present.
We extend our sincere gratitude to all parents who attended and provided invaluable support on both days. A special acknowledgment goes to our dedicated staff members: Mrs Jones and Mrs Fodor on the first day, and Mrs Billi and Mrs Francis on the second day. Their efforts in assisting students with event navigation and enthusiastic encouragement were truly appreciated.
The carnival featured numerous outstanding performances across all year levels, particularly in individual throws and jumps events, as well as relay events, where teamwork and collaboration shone brightly. We look forward to raising the bar even higher next year as we strive for greater success.
Congratulations to all students who regularly attended the running club; your commitment has undoubtedly contributed to improvements in individual fitness levels. Keep up the excellent work! We eagerly anticipate a fantastic year of Athletics in 2025!

Uniform Changes
Thank you to all the families who took the time to complete the uniform survey. A total of 322 people participated, highlighting how important uniforms are to our community. The results will be released next term.
Any uniform changes will require a phased implementation plan. We anticipate that most adjustments will be completed by the end of 2027, with all students wearing the same uniform by then.
Changes that will commence in 2025:

- Shirts tucked in for Formal Summer and Winter uniforms.
- Student to wear enclosed formal black shoes (Velcro or laces) for both the Summer and Winter uniforms. No sandals are to be worn on the summer uniform. Sneakers are not to be worn with the formal uniforms.
- Girls have the option to wear the boys’ maroon shorts or the maroon pants
- Phase out the Winter pinafore and replace with a plaid skirt or plaid skort and shirt.
- Girls to wear black stockings in the Winter.

We had some incredible feedback from dads who attended the bootcamp such as:
"So much value. In-depth discussion that you may not otherwise have, really makes you internalise a lot of things. Helps you to understand what your child is going through and their development.“
“I'm not sure of what lessons ive learnt but its just nice to see the love these men have for all children."
"Such a positive way to spend my time. I think there should be more support networks or discussion groups for dads. Once we leave antenatal classes, that's basically it for most guys. Really appreciate the opportunity, thanks Sam, Joe, Nathan and team!"
In this bootcamp we covered a variety of topics including:
Week 1: What is a dad to you?
Week 2: How to discipline your kids without damaging them
Week 3: Changing the narrative and rewriting your family story
