The classical guitar students entertained their parents on Tuesday 6 November and showed them how much they have improved throughout the year.
A big thank you to John Ralph, their Tutor, and to the families that attended. The evening was relaxed and casual and we thank the girls who compered and all of the students who performed. It was a great little presentation.

Enrolment forms are available on our website via the link: Instrumental Music Program Information and Enrolment Form for students interested in learning an instrument in 2019 and beyond. We have places available for all instrumental lessons and vacancies for our school band and rock band. We are very proud of our Music and Performing Arts program here at SSP and look forward to welcoming new students into the program.
COST
Lesson costs are $36.00 for individuals for 30 minute lessons or $18.00 each for 30 minutes lessons in pairs, depending on the instrument.
All lessons need to be paid in advance direct to the tutor before tuition commences. Each student will receive an invoice at the beginning of each term. Parents can pay for the whole Semester if they wish. 8-10 lessons are received each term, depending on the Term calendar. If lessons are missed due to cancellation by the tutor, they will be made up or carried over to the next term with altered payment. However, if students miss lessons due to sickness, holidays and school events this is not reimbursed as the tutor is still at school during the allocated time.
You may contact the tutor to make arrangements if you have two weeks prior notice of a clash of timetables.

As of 1 January 2017, all Catholic schools were required to have a Code of Conduct. The purpose of which is to describe minimum standards of conduct in all behaviour and decision making to ensure the safety and well-being of students. There are 12 statements on ethical behaviour. This Code applies to all staff, students, volunteers, parents and guardians as applicable. A copy of the code is on our school website and school app under Forms and Documents.
Parents in particular who use social media would need to be familiar with this document and be very aware of their conduct especially when using Facebook.

Our class lists have been confirmed and will be published on SEQTA from 8.00am on Friday 30 November 2018. We have some places available in Year 1 and Year 3 that are currently being interviewed for, so these names will be the only changes made.
You will need your SEQTA username and password to log into SEQTA to access this information. You will already have this information from accessing your child's Semester 1 school report. Any new families that have joined SSP in Terms 3 or 4 will be provided with their logon details prior to the lists going live.

Throughout Semester 2 SSP has been trialling Christian Meditation. The students from Pre-primary to Year 6 have engaged in this practice and have really enjoyed this time just to be still.
Meditation is a universal spiritual wisdom and a practice found at the core of all the great religious traditions, leading from the mind to the heart. It is a way of simplicity, silence and stillness. It can be practised by anyone, wherever you are on your life’s journey.
Examples of some responses from students
Christian Meditation calms my body. I feel calm when I meditate.
When I meditate, I feel calm in God’s hand.
