Principal Message

Principal_Message.jpg

The installation of the keypads occurred earlier this week at Gates 1 and 2. The use of these gates is directly related to OSCH and the ELC and parents who use these services will have already be provided with the details on how to access these gates and areas.

These keypads continue our commitment to the safety of all our students who attend our OSHC and Early Learning Service, ensuring that only those who are dropping off or collecting their children are accessing the licensed space. If you have any issues, please reply to the email from the SSP Care Services team.

Choosing words carefully is crucial because words have the power to uplift or harm. They shape perceptions, influence emotions, and can leave lasting impacts. Thoughtful communication fosters understanding, builds trust, and strengthens relationships. Conversely, careless words can lead to misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and conflict. Using appropriate language in our school interactions shows respect and empathy.

This is the message I gave to the senior assembly students earlier today, as there have been a range of interactions between our students in the past few weeks that do not align with our school values or motto. I have also spoken with the Years 1,2 and 3 classes to ensure this age appropriate message has been shared across the entire school group.

When parents repeat the same message at home that the school shares with the students, it reinforces the expectations that apply to everyone and shows that we are all working together for the benefit of the entire school community. Please share the following message with your children to reinforce the message from our school:

At St Simon Peter Catholic Primary School, using the right words helps everyone learn and work together better. Remember, words are powerful, so always think before you speak to make sure you're being kind and helpful.

During Term 2, I will be on System Leader’s leave and long service leave for the entirety of the term.

Miss Clodagh Manifold will be acting principal until the end of May, with Mrs Nicole Crosthwaite then taking the position until the end of Term 2. Mrs Natalie Saville will step up into the Assistant Principal’s role during Term 2.

I wish to thank all the staff who will take on acting roles during my leave.
