Raising Awareness for Invasive Strep A
On the 25th of June, Chance Flowers from Year 2B was interviewed by Channel 7 at Perth Children’s Hospital, bravely sharing his life-threatening experience with Invasive Strep A from back in 2022.
The news story aimed to raise awareness about this little known but extremely dangerous disease and to support fundraising efforts for The Kids Research Institute. The Institute is leading vital work in developing the world’s first vaccine for Strep A.
Chance is pictured here alongside one of the lead research scientists, Dr Janessa Oliva (Pickering), a past SSP student, highlighting the powerful connection between our school community and the important medical advances shaping children’s health.
